Luke Recommends :
Currently reading 'Light' by M. John Harrison and 'First and Last Men', by Olaf Stapledon, as well as 'Wild Seed', by Octavio Butler.
Luke's Faves: Wouldn't leave home without Jorge Luis Borges' Collected Stories. Or a collection of Philip K. Dick's short stories for that matter. The Asiatics by Frederic Prokosch is pretty hot, and one of my new faves, as is Cormac McCarthy's The Road. I've been hearing good things about The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz so I'll probably read that next.
One of the better comics collections I've read is John Porcellino's Diary of a Mosquito Abatement Man. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Luke has successfully pushed, 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep', by Philip K. Dick on me, and I'm really enjoying it. Also just finished Steve Martin's 'Born Standing Up', which was decent, but not as intimate as I thought it might have been.
Am kicking off 'Turning Failure Into Ideology' by Brian Polk in honor of the upcoming reading - and because local authors can kick ass too.
